The song “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth was written for the movie Furious 7 in memory of Paul Walker. Walker was one of the most prominent stars of the whole Fast and Furious franchise. He died when his car collided with a concrete lamppost in Valencia, California on November 30, 2013. He was leaving an event for his charity, Reach Out Worldwide, in benefit of victims of Typhoon Haiyan with his friend and car aficionado, Roger Rodas, who also lost his life in the accident. The song is played at the end of the film when Vin Diesel’s character parts ways with Paul Walker’s. This scene was filmed before Walker’s death.

Paul Walker was nearly halfway through filming Furious 7 at the time of his death. Immediately followed the event, producers and film executives met to discuss the future of the movie. There was some consideration from the group about simply scrapping the movie altogether, although ultimately they resumed production with some key rewrites, notably to address Walker's absence and to give his character a proper send-off. To futher honor Walker’s character, his real-life brothers Caleb and Cody stodd in for him during some scenes involving his character that were filmed after his death.
